Nike Just Entered Padel.

Nike Just Entered Padel. Here's What That Actually Means for Your Wallet.

Every sport eventually gets the visit — the moment a swoosh shows up and suddenly everyone treats it differently. Padel just got that visit.

What Happened

Nike unveiled its first three padel rackets — Command, Attack, Balance — at Drake's NOCTA Manor event, with a 2027 launch and world No. 1 Agustín Tapia lined up as ambassador. This isn't a side project or a limited drop. It's Nike building a full racket line with the sport's biggest current star attached to it.

Why This Is Bigger Than "New Racket Brand"

Padel-native brands like NOX, Bullpadel, and Siux built this market from nothing, and their pricing reflects specialist economics — real R&D, real pro-tour sponsorship, relatively small production runs. Nike doesn't play by that math. When a company with Nike's manufacturing scale and marketing budget enters a category, it typically does one of two things: pulls prices down through volume, or pulls prices up by making "premium" the new baseline everyone else has to compete against.

Which way it breaks depends on where Nike positions Command, Attack, and Balance once actual pricing lands. Worth watching, not predicting yet.

What This Means If You're Buying a Racket Soon

  • Nothing changes for you today — Nike padel doesn't launch until 2027
  • If you're loyal to a padel-native brand, this is worth watching as a signal of where the category is headed, not a reason to switch
  • If you've been on the fence about padel because it felt "niche," Nike showing up is the market telling you it isn't anymore
